This friday April 6th at Fort Lauderdale, RM Sotheby's will sell this rare 1962 Fiat-Abarth Mono Mille Scorpione for about $110,000.
History of the Mono Mille Scorpione
Carlo Abarth, automobile designer in the 50's and Abarth's founder, wanted to produce an Abarth GT for daily use. So, at the 1961 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mono Mille was presented, MONO stands for one cam and MILLE the class (up to 1000 cc).
There were less than 50 Mono Mille built from 1961 up to 1965 in two versions the Scorpione from 1961 to 1962 and the GT Mono Milleth other years.
Technical Specification
The Mono Mille Scorpionehas a 1,000-cc four-cylinder engine delevering 60 hp, top speed 170 kmh, with manual transmission.
