During its Quail Lodge Auction in August (Carmel, US), Bonhams will auction this superb red 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, the perfect blend between British design and American horsepower.
History of the Shelby Cobra
The AC Cobra in Europe and the Shelby Cobra in the US, is a sports car with a Ford V8 engine, produced in both the UK and the US since 1962 by AC Cars, British automobile manufacturer. The mode 289 was built until late 1968 with a small block Ford 289.
The Cobra was the idea of the Texan Carroll Shelby who had gone racing in Europe in the 50's and wanted a combination of a Ford V8 engine with a European chassis from AC Ace. A huge success in the showroom and also on the racetrack.

Technical specification
With its V8 engine and 4 speed manual transmission, the Shelby Cobra produces 450 hp. For suspension, you have independent front and rear suspension with A-arms, transverse leaf springs and tubular shock absorbers.
With this red painting over black leather interior, it's a superb and award winning restoration. Your perfect ride ?
