Next weekend, at Denver (US), Mecum will sell to auction this beautiful pink 1957 Ford Thunderbird, true American car...
History of the Ford Thunderbird
During 1953 Motorama, a GM's auto show from 1949 to 1961, GM presented the Chevrolet Corvette in order to offer a like-European sports cars to Americans. In response, Ford launched the first generation of the Thunderbird in 1955 until 1957, the first 2-seat car since 1938.
But, the Thunderbird with its light weight and a standard V8 engine was more a comfort car than a sports car, and was not on the same segment of the Corvette. The 1957 Thunderbird is one of the most desirable for this model because of its design with the rear body is larger allowing for more space.

In 1957, Ford wanted to build 10,000 examples but it was a big success, 16,155 units were produced, and many orders went unfilled...
Technical specification
This 1957 Ford Thunderbird has an 312 cu in Y-block V8 engine with automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes...
Beautiful restoration with this pink painting / white top and the white leather interior matching with the whitewall tires.
