In Monterey in August, my dream's car, a black Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing will heading to auction through RM Sotheby's. The price is still unknown but in April, a red Gullwing was sold for $US 1,193,500.
History of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL
Max Hoffman, the U.S. distributor for Mercedes-Benz, asked to Daimler-Benz in 1953 to put a customer version of the W194, Grand Prix race car, into production.
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, German automobile designer who designed also ** Mercedes-Benz 540K**.The two-seat coupé with distinctive gull-wing doors was introduced in 1954. This 1957 model was one of the last produced, with all the features, Becker Mexico radio, full leather uphostery.

Technical specification
The Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing with its 2,996 cc 6-cylinder-inline engine delivered 240 hp for a top speed of 240 kmh. The sale price in 1954 was about $US 11,000.
The only problem on this model is the interior with this tartan fabric, I don't like it. I prefer a classic cream leather interior. But the design of the Gullwing, wahoo...
