This is with the installation Untitled (Schooner and Fireworks) that I discovered the Canadian artist, Sarah Anne Johnson.

Untitled (Schooner and Fireworks), 2012

This installation is made of a wooden table with a model schooner and above a huge structure like a colorful cloud with fireworks. But when you get closer, you see that this structure is made of plastics. This installation is accompanied by a photo exhibition Explosion Panorama about the Sarah Anne Johnson journey on the schooner The Noorderlicht in North Canada. She realized in this beautiful landscapes, the human presence is everywhere with the garbage transported by the sea (bottle of plastic, bags ...) spoiling the place.

WHAT

“I've always felt a deep frustration with the limitations of photography.” - Sarah Anne Johnson

In photography, Sarah Anne Johnson is interested in showing what is hidden by sticking, modifying, cutting, painting... it's the perfect way to expose the environmental causes like the Galapagos Project ( she volunteered on the Galapagos cutting invasive weeds) or Arctic Wonderland with climate change/global warming.

Very interesting artist which looks at the ecological causes amplifying and shifting the documentary effects of photography. Essential in our time...
