The perfect combination (for me), an artist playing with cars. Today, the artist Fabian Oefner in collaboration with M.A.D. Gallery exploded a 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV...
But don't worry no Lamborghini Miura was hurt to make this photograph. Fabian Oefner individually photographed more than 1,500 parts (from the body sheel to the screws) of the Miura during its restoration. Then he gathered all these photos to create the illusion of an explosion.
Beautiful...
WHO
Born in 1984, Fabian Oefner is Swiss sculptor and photographer based now in New-York. He combines the fields of art and science examining our perception of reality / time with very realistic and detailed works. He creates images that aren't visible to the human eye.
He explained his approach during TED Talk with photographs of crystals as they interact with soundwaves:

Just to speak about this splendid car,the Miura P400 was the first supercar by Lamborghini. It was presented in 1966 at the Geneva Salon. It was an instant success with its unique look and with the placement of its engine, mounted just behind the passenger compartment. The SV (Super Veloce) included a lot of upgrades like a better handling thanks to a new suspension in order to remove the front-end lightness. Only 150 SVs were produced. If you want more information, you can see an old post about the sale of 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV (sold For $US 2,177,500).
"It had always been my dream to create an art piece with a real car. One day, a friend said to me, “I have a Miura and I’m having it restored. Why don’t you take the opportunity to create one of your disintegrating images?” And of course he didn’t have to ask me twice to work on one of my favorite cars, to get to touch every single screw and piece of that legend, and put them into a final composition... that’s a dream come true!" - Fabian Oefner (Source Lamborghini Magazine).
