Un mural con una historia de vida entre sus trazos

This interactive mural, portrays the photograph of deported migrants. It tells the story of 15 people who came to the United States at a very young age and then, for political reasons, were deported to Tijuana Mexico, where they arrived in a new place without friends or personal belongings.

The artists, 15 volunteers, made the paintings of the people who would make up the mural on canvas. They then took the measurements of the bars of the wall that divides the border between Mexico and the United States, cut out strips of each photograph and glued them to the bars.

This mural will be inaugurated in July 2021. The photographs I share with you today, were taken for me, by my Mexican friend Alejandro, who works with the UN and for work reasons moved a few weeks ago to Tijuana, once there he asked me if I wanted the photographs to review this mural and I could not resist to investigate everything about it.

The mural has QR codes next to each portrait, this directs us to a web page where the story of these dreamers who were deported is told in detail. On this website, we can find photographs of the entire process of creating the mural.

Este mural interactivo, retrata la fotografía de migrantes deportados. Cuenta la historia de 15 personas que llegaron a Estados Unidos desde muy jovenes y luego, por cuestiones políticas, fueron deportados a Tijuana México, donde llegaron a un lugar nuevo sin amigos y sin cosas personales.

Los artistas, 15 voluntarios, hicieron las pinturas de las personas que integrarían el mural en lienzos de tela. Luego tomaron las medidas de los barrotes del muro que divide la frontera entre México y Estados Unidos, cortaron franjas de cada fotografía y las pegaron en los barrotes.

Este mural se inauguró en julio de 2021. Las fotografías que les comparto hoy, fueron tomadas para mí, por mi amigo mexicano Alejandro, que trabaja con la ONU y por razones de trabajo se trasladó hace unas semanas hasta Tijuana, una vez allá me preguntó que si quería las fotografías para reseñar este mural y no pude resistirme a investigar todo lo referente.

El mural cuenta con códigos QR junto a cada retrato, este nos direcciona a una página web donde se cuenta detalladamente la historia de estos soñadores que fueron deportados. En este sitio web, podemos encontrar fotografías de todo el proceso de creación del mural.
